I assume the characters in the article were written to be current for that time. Unfortunately, they were also written for an older edition of the Champions game, and none of the powers had points listed, only a point total for the character. So what I've done is take the character and buy everything as closely as was possible to the original. This was complicated somewhat by the fact that I've never played Champions prior to 4th edition. I've retained the original values for the character disads in certain cases (which should be obvious) because not enough info is given to determine how much they are worth. The Multipower gave no indication whether it was multi slots or ultra slots. I made them multi slots to give her flexibility. The BODY Aid was originally a 4d6 Regeneration, UBO, takes as damage. The specifics of the Danger Sense, other than the roll, are guesses based on my knowledge of the character. Pacifist limitation. Not sure I'd give it 20, maybe 10. -- Mike The physical limitation about STUN was added by myself. It was noted that way, but not with the other disadvantages. As she touched him, she absorbed his life energy right out of his body, sending him into a deep coma. Her father drove her from the house, not wanting a "stinking mutant freak" in his home. She was discovered by the mutant shapeshifter Mystique and joined Mystique's group of mutant criminals. During this time she absorbed the powers of Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) fully (making her extremely strong and damage resistant), and her memory as well. Ms. Marvel has not since recovered, but the experience drove Rogue to leave Mystique and search out the X-Men, hoping that their telepathic mentor, Charles Xavier, could help her. Since joining the X-Men, a relationship between her and fellow mutant Remy LeBeau, aka Gambit, has been slowly growing. Powers/Tactics: Rogue does not like to use her absorption powers, because the mind-sharing is uncomfortable and of the possible danger of another complete transfer occurring. Normally she fights using her great strength and the mobility granted her by flight. She doesn't fight with any particular style or finesse; she's simply stronger than just about anyone she meets. Writer's Notes: The psyche absorption caused by the Transfer means that psych lims of the target are also temporarily hers to some degree. Keep in mind that they may conflict with her own, causing further problems. The telepathic contact and psyche absorption may take place even if the Transfer does not work due to its limitations (generally worse if the powers were magical, generally less or not at all if they were mechanical). The Side Effect does represent a 297-pt disadvantage, in effect, which should explain Rogue's reluctance to use it. It can be a VERY traumatic experience for her. Thus, even though she has a much higher point total than other X-Men, it really doesn't show that much. The angst factor helps, too. Name: Rogue (by Alan R. Back in the 70's when she was a teenager her power manifested and flared during her first serious love affair, reducing her then boyfriend to a vegetable. She has never been able to touch another person without at least temporarily sucking out their personalities. Wracked with guilt she fled and was recruited by the Evil Mutants, whose leader became a mother figure to her. As a junior member of the Evil Mutants, she fought Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel), a non-mutant friend of the X-men. In the battle, they were locked together for too long and Rogue absorbed Carol's personality and powers permanently. (This is where Rogue got her Strength, Flight, and Invulnerability.) Confused by the struggle between Carol's more mature personality and her own, Rogue had a falling out with the Evil Mutants and sought the Dr. Xavier for help. Her first real friend in the X-men was Wolverine, partly because they shared a certain cynical, anti-social attitude, partly because Carol Danvers knew him. Through the 80's Rogue became a core member of the X-men, and has the training to lead the group in a pinch. Though, like Wolvie, she's still a bit of a loner. Writer's Notes: Rogue has always been my favorite superhero. While I haven't read the X-men in years, I have been buying the her current limited series. (I don't much like the art - Rogue used to be drawn as a pretty tough lady with a punk hairstyle. Now she's got big googly eyes and hair that looks like Kathy Ireland's with a tin of white paint poured on top. The japanimation influence is too much for me. Eeuch!) After reading the discussions which followed the first post, here's a rewrite of Rogue. I added telepathy for absorbing memories. I also decided on a 45 STR because, while she doesn't routinely throw cars around, she can crush guns fairly casually. A pistol is listed as 4 DEF & 4 Body, so 9d6 for STR will produce this effect. Also, she can Push to 55 in order to press the 50 tonnes mentioned by someone. Ryoga's dislike for Ranma stems from his perception that Ranma ran away from a duel they'd arranged. (The fight was to take place at a lot between their houses. Ranma waited for three days, but Ryoga didn't arrive until the fourth day, thanks to his lack of a sense of direction.) Additionally, Ranma was responsible for Ryoga's curse. (Ryoga was lost in China shortly after Ranma's 'accident'... Ranma knocked him over the cliff while chasing his father. He didn't even notice, but Ryoga fell into a Jusenkyo spring... the Spring of Drowned Pig.) And of course, Ranma also happens to be engaged to the woman Ryoga loves. This makes for a rather strained relationship... but the two are friendly rivals as often as they are enemies. Ryoga would do anything for Akane, but is too shy to tell her he loves her. Akane, meanwhile, sees Ryoga only as a friend, and (in pig form) her beloved pet, P-Chan. Powers/Tactics: Ryoga is a master martial artist, but he always seems to be one step behind Ranma, no matter what. Karate would be a good choice for Ryoga's martial art, with several extra DCs thrown in. Since the Multiform is as much a disadvantage as an advantage, I left it at 0 cost. (YOU try getting to hot water when you're a pig.) Appearance: Whether Ryoga is in his black piglet or human form, he is always wearing a yellow bandana.
